Marketing Junk Food
Before diving into creating that next email campaign, social media post, video, or blog post ask: “Will this still matter moments after it’s consumed to my intended audience and move them closer to using this solution to their problem?” If not, it’s probably the marketing equivalent of junk food giving them a “sugar high” that will leave them with the inevitable crash and no closer to fixing what ails them.
Avoid producing (and consuming) marketing junk food. Feed your audience substance and they will thank you with their attention and business.
As an aside, would you engage with the piece of marketing you are about to put in front of someone's eyes? If not, don't ship it until you would.
